The Billies showed grit and determination as they beat the Tigers 60-54 in the second game of the Dayton Tournament. The Billies started strong leading 21-17 at the end of the first quarter but lost some momentum as Senior Post Victoria Lewis got in foul trouble and had to sit out for most of the second quarter. Down by 1 at the half, the Billies regrouped and beat the Tigers in the third quarter to take a 1 point lead going in the final period. Utilizing great defense and concentration from the free throw line, the Billies held the Tigers to 13 points in the quarter and went 10-14 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter pushing them past the Tigers in the end.
The Billies were lead by Sophomore guard Angeni Yeo with 21points. Yeo was 7 for 10 from the free throw line for the game. Hannah Way added 17 and Kaylee Martin added 12 for the Billies.
